We Are Going on an Adventure
What if life is chaos’s playground, and we’re here to explore—not through goals, but play? Reclaim adventure in a world always waiting on our first move.
Sometimes it’s easy to forget to play because we are bogged down in life. That’s kind of an paradox—life is the playground par excellence. Nothing could have ever happened without chaos exploring itself and trying to find highly valuable arrangements, adventures for the sake of adventure and the exploration of unfamiliar places, objects, and thoughts to uncover what has yet to exist. By not playing, are we truly embracing life? Are we fulfilling our role in this grand design—our role as interpreters of a world far more complex than we can ever imagine, one that relies on us to make sense of itselfs?
Through play, we engage with chaos on its own terms, allowing us to explore without the constraints of rigid logic or predetermined goals. In this sense, play is how we align ourselves with life’s inherent unpredictability and complexity.
So, let’s play a game. Imagine yourself as being possessed by a virus bio-engineered by a prankster god whose only interest is amusement. The virus studies us and remains silent, waiting to pull the next string. When it pleases, it commands: “We’re going on an adventure!” It’s up to us to be receptive, open, and willing enough to listen. When the command comes, we must act as if nothing is more important than play. Because, in that moment, nothing is.
That’s sort of an absurd way to think about letting go of the reins and playing just for the hell of it. You know… that probably isn’t the case, but it might as well be.
